A Simple Gesture is a program that has launched in many communities around the country for people to support their local food pantry on an ongoing basis. The new Kiwanis Club of Newton is sponsoring and administering A Simple Gesture in Newton to support the Newton Food Pantry
How does it work?
Sign up above to participate.
You will receive a reusable grocery bag from Newton Kiwanis and a list of items that the Newton Food Pantry currently needs.
When you go to the grocery store, purchase some items off the list. You can buy as much or as little as you would like – every donation helps, no matter how small!
On a designated day, place your bag outside on your porch.
Newton Kiwanis members will pick it up and deliver to the Newton Food Pantry.
How does this help the food pantry?
The Newton Food Pantry receives food through food drives, individual donations, food rescue programs, and purchasing items with monetary donations. However, they don’t always receive everything they need. A Simple Gesture allows the Newton Food Pantry to request items that it isn’t receiving through its other channels to provide its clients with nutritious, balanced food items.
